Me and my blog!

Beary Bits! This page links to all my bears, past and present. If you are looking for a bear to add to your hug, please pop along to my shop or check The Den to see who is available. I run small numbered limited editions from time to time and these will be waiting for you there too : )
About my bears My bears have gorgeous coats of mohairs or luxury faux furs, including hand dyed too. They are all carefully stitched, each with their own personality. My largest bears stand 10 inches tall, while little cubs start at just 3 inches, or below. I like to give my bears lidded eyes and can spend a lot of time trying to get "that" face!
My Album has photos of recently adopted bears and The Den houses bears looking for homes. If you do not find your bear in my Den today, please keep an eye on my site as I pop new bears online every week. Perhaps you'd like to sign up to receive an email notification when they appear online - there's a form on the left, or just send me an email : ) Please note that my bears are best suited to the collector's hug. Due to the parts used, they are unsuitable for young children, unless otherwise stated

All bears need some gentle "tlc" and one of the best ways to keep them in good condition is to very carefully hoover them, using an upholstery nozzle on your vacuum cleaner. Even if your bear is safely displayed and allowed to sit in peace all day, he will still collect dust. Please check him for loose stitches and eyes before any cleaning and deal with those first.
If your bear is in need of more drastic attention, then its time for his wash! Some bears will helpfully carry washing labels and can even be popped in the machine for a short spin! But if your bear does not tell you that he would be happy washed in this way, please err on the side of caution and gently wash him with warm water and a white cloth. Wring out the cloth as you dampen him (bears do not like being soaked) and change the water frequently to keep the cloths clean as you work. Always use a white cloth to avoid any dye staining the fur.
Allow your bear to dry in a ventilated room, not sitting in the sun and please do not use a hair dryer. Although this may seem the quickest option it can ruin your bear's fur.
If your bear is very old, I would not recommend trying to clean him yourself, treat him instead to a visit to a specialist bear repairer where he will receive expert care and attention and a new lease of life : )
